This rather unusual product isn't about filling in or perfecting brows, but looking after them so you don't need to do as much cosmetic adjustment in the long-run. Benefit say this conditions hair (thanks to the inclusion of keratin and soy proteins to help brows look thicker and fuller,) while priming brows for other products used over the surface. The transparent gel and brush applicator are a pleasure to use, but realistically I can't see many people being that fussed about maintaining their brows when you can just pop in for a wax and pick up a pencil.
GOOF PROOF BROW PENCIL (£18.50)
Benefit say this is the easiest brow filling and shaping pencil yet; just twist-up, glide-on and your brows will be on point! The glide-on formula and soft colour help to instantly fill out patchy areas, while the shaped tip provides both precision and fullness in one. Including a spoolie brush at the other end for blending, this is definitely my favourite for lazy days when I just want to get up and go; you really can't go wrong and the crayon is so pigmented you won't feel like you're scraping off your skin trying to get it to stick!
PRECISELY, MY BROW PENCIL (£18.50)
Providing ultra-thin precision for perfect hair like strokes, this pencil is a more precise version of the Goof Proof pencil. Available in six shades, it's so easy to create natural looking strokes that stay put all day. This is the kind of brow product I absolutely adore, but Benefit have never offered until now, so this is definitely going to become a daily must-have in the coming months. If there's one thing you invest in, make it this.
BROW ZINGS (£24.50)
A best seller in its previous format, the new incarnation of the iconic Brow Zings is now available in six shades with a special new double-ended brush. Containing a tinted wax and powder to perfect the look of brows, this is a great place to start if you're not too sure about what to use on your own caterpillars. It even contains a mini tweezer to rid yourself of any stray hairs, while the new plastic pack is so much more practical than the cardboard one which has been driving me mad for years.
A newbie on the block, this cream gel apparently easily fills, sculpts and defines brows with up to 24 hour wear. I say apparently, because after trying to get the lid of for fifteen minutes I gave up - so I haven't actually been able to put it to the test myself. Gutted. (Make sure yours doesn't do the same before you leave the shop!)
GIMME BROW (£18.50)
One of the most iconic of the Benefit brow products, this volumising formula contains tiny microfibres that adhere to skin and hair to provide natural looking fullness and definition. Buildable, water resistant, long-wearing and mess proof, 94% of those Benefit tested said their brows looked visibly thicker. I've been using this product for years, but the new version has a slightly different tapered brush that aids blending and shaping; it's easy to comb on a little colour and volume, although I did find the formula to be a little more runny than the original. Just me?
Apparently this is 'the product you never knew you needed'. It provides subtle brow-enhancing highlights, soft contrast and a 'three dimensional result' when worn alone or over other products. In all honesty though, I just don't get it; maybe if you're looking for a very natural brow look or just want to add a touch of something without looking like a Kardashian, give it a whirl and let me know what you think.
READY, SET, BROW! (£18.50)
Quick drying and 100% transparent, this shaping and setting gel helps to keep hairs in place without a crispy feeling. The flexible, flake-free formula and short bristled brush make application easy, but it just reminds me of applying clear mascara over my brows in the late 90's. Definitely one if you're full in the brow area and need control, but for most of us it's a step too far.
HIGH BROW & HIGH BROW GLOW (£17.50)
One of the first Benefit products I was ever introduced to, the High Brow and High Brow Glow pencils help to create the perfect arch with an incredibly blendable and subtle highlight. Although it's not necessarily something you'd turn to daily, if you like your brows sculpted and perfected then these are the answer. What's even better is that you can also use them in the corner of eyes to brighten, and the tops of the cheekbones to catch the light. Bonus.
