You'll Eat 1000 Lipsticks In Your Lifetime (WHAT!) Make Good Choices With Burt's Bees 100% Natural Lip Crayon

SPONSORED FEATURE
Over the course of a lifetime it's estimated that the average woman consumes seven pounds of lipstick. (That's broken down to approximately 1000 individual bullets of the red stuff, yuk!) It may not be intentional, but after we've applied our favourite shade it's inevitable that we lick our lips or ingest a little while we're sipping on a coffee cup; although in such small quantities it's not going to be dangerous, it is worth considering what you're putting on your mouth and making sensible choices. I'm a huge lover of colour, relying on a portfolio of brands to get me ready for the day and boost my confidence - because there's nothing like stepping out the door fashioning a power lip! However, a lot of the brands I regularly turn to leave my lips feeling dry and in need of a good treatment: so much so that I have to take a day's break between applications. They're also full of chemicals, preservatives, artificial colours and so much more - so if you could create an intense colour result without compromising on what's inside, that would make sense right? Burt's Bees are well known for their award winning lipbalms (which I adore,) but they're not so well known for their 100% natural Lip Crayons which provide a beautiful and comfortable finish without any nasties.

Available in six creamy full-coverage shades, the Lip Crayons are infused with Shea Butter, Kendi Oil, and Jojoba Oil to provide a lightweight and comfortable suitable-for-everyday formula. Each crayon is incredibly lightweight, but equally provides a true-to-bullet hit of colour that looks like any other traditional lipstick. Unlike a lot of other formulas, the Burt's Bees crayons are designed specifically to hydrate and moisturise lips (with the colour as a secondary benefit) leaving them feeling soft and smooth; it may feel more like a balm, but it still looks like you're rocking a full lip. With no added unnecessary flavour or fragrance, the focus is very much on a formula that provides what you want without overloading the lips with stuff you don't need. The six shades within the collection include a delicious berry red, natural flushes of pink and even a pinky-coral to get you in the mood for summer - so there's sure to be a colour you'll fall in love with.

I adore the Redwood Forest shade as it provides a powerful on-trend look, while simultaneously looking after my lips underneath; I've worn this all day long on multiple occasions and can continually re-apply without feeling like my lips are parched. It's the ultimate colour product for wearing every day, without compromising on hydration or ingredients. While we don't do it intentionally, there's no question that we digest a small proportion of our lipstick every time we apply; it makes sense to make the switch to a 100% natural formula where you can, knowing there's nothing entering your system that you wouldn't want there. Informed decisions are the best decisions! If you fancy giving the Burt's Bees Lip Crayons a whirl yourself, and making the switch to a 100% natural lip colour, then you're in luck! I have three sets of all six fabulous shades up for grabs, so just enter the competition below for your chance to win... Your lips (and tummy) will thank you for it.

  12. Wow, I know we do ingest some of the lipstick we were, but never thought it amounted to that much! That's crazy and a little scary to be honest.

I've heard a lot about Burts Bees but unfortunatley have never gotten the chance to try them out as they're not sold here in Kuwait. One day, lol.. They sound great!
