The tinted gel is formulated with a combination of beeswax and wax gellants to apply effortlessly, delivering a great colour payoff without overloading brows; hairs are left feeling flexible and smooth, rather than set hard in place, giving the result an even more natural finish. You can build the formula, thanks to the gel effectively ‘hugging’ hairs rather than just applying in one swoop across the surface, and it’s water, sweat and humidity-resistant too, meaning you don’t even have to worry about your look slipping if you’re in the gym. Available in eight different shades to match pretty much every natural hair colour (although noticeably redheads are absent!) there’s interestingly a taupe and grey shade, so that ladies with slightly silver undertones can still keep their brows looking fabulous. I don't think I've ever come across these shades in a brow product before, so bravo to Bobbi for embracing women of all ages and hair tones!
Helpfully, Bobbi Brown have even launched a brow tool to help you apply the product perfectly and ensure the best finish possible. The Dual-Ended Brow Definer features an angled brush to apply the gel in small strokes (and achieve a stronger line using the edge of the bristles,) and a ’spoolie’ brush to help tame brows both before and after application. If you want to know how to get the best results, they say: “Use the Brow Definer end of the Dual-Ended Brow Definer/Groomer Brush to pick up product from compact. Start at the inner corner of the brow and use short, even strokes to fill in the entire length of the brow's natural arch. As the brow tapers, use the narrow edge of the brush for more precise application. Then, use the Brow Groomer end to shape brows and soften color, brushing brow hairs up and over.”Although you by no means have to use this brush (other brushes, at a more reasonable price, are available!) investing in a spoolie and an angled brush is definitely worthwhile.
I'm really loving these at the moment - so much so that the two other shades I was given are already looking a right old state and not suited for photography! (Sorry. Got too excited there.) If you're looking at investing in a new brow gel or just need to up your brow stakes, get yourself to a Bobbi Brown counter and try these for yourself. (It's definitely worth getting the advice of a Bobbi makeup artist too, as they'll be able to pick out the best shade for your hair colour and complexion.)
The Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Brow Gel is available now, in six shades, priced £17.00. The double-ended brush is £26.00.
