If you've never tried the Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paint then you need to get down to your local Boots or Superdrug stat. The rich formulas are a dream to apply, providing a rich colour result that's touch-dry within seconds; although you still need to give it a good thirty minutes to be completely set through (like any polish) there's no need to spray on a quick-dry spray or drying drops, because the encapsulated technology does that for you. Available in Flash, Freestyle, Winning Streak and Personal Best, all four shades are thoroughly suited to my English Rose complexion; I love the three understated nude shades that all offer up a slightly different take on the trend, while the lilac tone offers up a little taste of the pastel tones we're so used to seeing.
Similarly, the Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint provides a super shiny finish that looks like you've just stepped out of the salon. Butterscotch Sundae, Cream Soda, Birthday Suit and Pink Lemonade offer a very similar shade to the Speedy polishes, just with an alternative finish. The texture is slightly thicker and helps create an effortlessly chic nail, but I do find these slightly more prone to chipping. However, the wide applicator brush glides over nails dreamily to provide a uniform finish in only one coat; it's easy to 'top up' the tips of nails if they chip without overloading the surface with four or five layers!
It's refreshing to see a spring collection that's not full of the usual pretty pinks and pastel blues, while still remaining incredibly relevant and chic. I would absolutely wear all eight of these shades and have already been rotating the nude tones since they arrived on my desk. Although nobody needs all eight, it's definitely worth popping down to your local store and grabbing a couple to get you through the springtime months with ease. Any shade that means I don't have to keep changing my polish is a winner in my book.
