The combination of unique ingredients make these affordable skin treats instantly effective. Black cumin seed oil (from the Egyptian Nile Valley) is known for its concentration in antioxidants, Camellia seed oil (from the evergreen trees of China) is naturally rich in oleic acid, while Rosehip seed oil (from the Andes of Chile) is rich in both omega 3 and 6. Jennifer Hirsch, Beauty Botanist for The Body Shop, says: "Concentrated inside each seed is the power to fuel new life. These natural powerhouses provide fundamental nutrition for the skin, resulting in radiance." Although oils have had a hard time in the past, they're really a great addition to any skincare routine as they have the ability to absorb quickly while preventing moisture loss. Described as the 'superfoods' of skincare, oils can help protect the skin so it can focus on repair and fighting off free radicals - so there's really no excuse not for integrating one into your routine.
Together the four new 'Oils Of Life' products provide a comprehensive routine, but individually they provide an incredibly pleasant helping hand. Starting off with the Essence Lotion (made of oil and water) to help remove any cleanser residue and prep the skin for the other products, the next step in your routine should be the addition of the Facial Oil - a super lightweight formula which absorbs quickly and can be massaged in for optimum results. Depending upon your need or preference, the option of either the Intensely Revitalising Cream or Intensely Revitalising Gel Cream will finish off your routine by injecting goodness where it's needed most. I personally prefer the lightweight texture of the Gel Cream which melts into the skin without any residue, but the traditional Cream is just a slightly richer texture that's also great to use pre-bed.
I can only applaud The Body Shop for focusing their attention on creating products that offer an affordable alternative to some of the expensive (and complex) formulations that are celebrated so widely amongst beauty enthusiasts. Although we'd all love to spend £85.00 on a Sunday Riley face oil, realistically £25.00 is much more around the appropriate price point; these products contain some really beneficial ingredients that will help skin to glow from within, while creating a moment that's both indulgent and relaxing. Yes there are some things inside those with sensitive skin should be aware of (I would always thoroughly read the ingredients label to avoid anything that would irritate skin further,) but for those of you wanting a little boost and a regime you can pick up with ease, these would definitely be top of my list.
The Body Shop 'Oils Of Life' products are available now, online and instore, with prices starting from £15.00.
