BUBLE

This Cake Is Not A Cake. It's A Bath Treat With A Hidden Surprise! (NEW Jewel Bath Bombs)

What did we do before bath bombs and bathing related treats? I pity the previous generation, for they only knew of the rich bubbles created by a bottle of Radox. Although I'm a big fan of Lush, Bath Bomb Cosmetics and Miss Patisserie, this little cake of wonder from the people behind JewelCandles is something a little bit special. It may look good enough to eat and feature a tasty dried orange slice, but it really shouldn't be ingested in any way, shape or form... For this is a humble bath bomb in disguise. Not only does it create a sweet smelling delicate lather, but it separates to provide a body scrub and a bonus jewellery treat too. Each cake contains a blingtastic gift up to the value of £250.00, making bath time even more special.

These aren't the kind of bath bombs you'd chuck into steaming water on a regular basis (they'll set you back twenty quid a pop,) but they do make fabulous gifts if you're not sure what to buy a loved one. The lather itself is very subtle, adding more of a sweet scent than any bubbles, but when mixed with a few drops of bath oil and a good book it definitely provides a relaxing bathtime experience. The major downside for me is that the exfoliating scrub 'icing' is actually incredibly difficult to work with; it's quite hard, doesn't break up easily, is pretty harsh on the skin and does very little exfoliating in the process. I ended up chucking it back in the water and reaching for my usual products instead... However, the gift inside is a great little treat - there could be a necklace, pair of earrings, charm or ring within the tasty exterior that's so much more satisfying to find than burning a candle for fifteen hours! Ingenius, even if a little bit gimmicky...

What are your thoughts about these cupcake treats with a hidden surprise?

The JewelBath cupcake is available online, priced £19.95. The gem inside is worth up to £250.00.

  11. I love the look of the cupcake, but £20 for a one time bath bomb use and costume jewelry seems too expensive :/
