The bottles are absolutely beautiful and are reminiscent of a pure gold bar; how incredible will these look on your dressing table? They maybe a nightmare to photograph, but the sleek design and shiny surfaces will inevitably bring out the magpie in all of us. But what about the juice inside? The hero scent from the range, Rose Radiant Gold, is very much what you'd expect from Michael Kors fragrances: 'tantalizing and hypnotic' it entices the senses with notes of sparkling spice, textured with rich florals and subtle musks. Although it's not my personal cup of tea, it will no doubt appeal to women who like their scents classically formulated. It's incredibly warming, rich and sexy, with just a hint of femininity beneath the surface.
Described as 'sparkling and sensuous', it's the White Luminous Gold that's my personal favourite; it provides a polished, intoxicating burst of pear, jasmine and amber to lift the spirits. It's not what you'd anticipate from a brand with universal appeal, providing a rather unusual and unexpected fragrance, but it still provides a result that will be loved by many. Similarly, the 'feminine and seductive' 24K Brilliant Gold fragrance shimmers with hints of orange mandarin, fresh floral and creamy notes of wood. It's uplifting and energising, offering a citrus-based scent that's almost reminiscent of the classic DKNYs from years passed. (Unsurprising as they're from the same fragrance house!) Although there's nothing revolutionary here, the scents look fabulous and make a real statement piece - either as a gift or little indulgence. The fragrances themselves are inoffensive, wearable and timeless, injecting life back into the Michael Kors fragrance portfolio.
