Packed with a dozen sultry, smoky neutrals (including nine never-before-seen shades and three exclusives,) the Naked Smoky palette is loaded with all the essentials for the perfect neutral smoky eye. Basically this sums all the shades I ever use - day or night, summer or winter. If you only buy one eyeshadow palette this whole year, then this should be it. Naked Smoky provides you with all the colour combinations and textures you could ever want (including matte, shimmering and metallic,) packed in one super sleek and elegant case. From the understated 'base' tones, right through to the super dark shades to line the eye and create the ultimate smoke, these twelve eyeshadows are simply fabulous.
Urban Decay add a sprinkle of magic into every shade they produce, and this palette is no exception. Each shade is super soft, blendable, buildable, long-lasting and crease-free; you can wear the tones alone with a slick of mascara, or layer them up for a look that smoulders. For me, other palettes often feel intimidating, but the way the shades are broken down make Naked Smoky something I want to get stuck into straight away. The double-ended brush that's included is also a dream; I've kept hold of previous Urban Decay eyeshadow brushes long after the palette has been disregarded, as they're so brilliant and buffing and blending into the eye. The longer end is great at applying your base colours and subtly blending, while the shorter and more compact end is the secret to a flawless smoky eye: it holds a serious amount of eyeshadow without flaking, helping you to really work the colour around the lash line.
There's nothing particularly revolutionary about this new palette, but it ticks all the boxes for me. It's beautiful, contains all the shades I'll ever need, features one of the best eyeshadow brushes I've used, plus the quality of the pigment is second to none. After a long time of resisting it, it's safe to say I'm finally a Naked convert...
