1. Thumbelina Lillie
As cute as a button, Megan's blog isn't just review after review - it offers something fresh, exciting and for me embodies what blogging is all about. She's recently been 'shopping her stash' and reminding herself of those fabulous forgotten about products, but older posts cover everything from fashion and shopping, to reflecting back and offering up tidbits of advice. Her makeup is always flawless without being intimidating, while the photography featured is inspirational without being generic. Her site is definitely one to watch.
2. Mascara & Malteasers
A blog I could spend hours flicking through, this site offers up a great combination of product reviews and reflection. Annabel's writing style is delicious, really engaging you with what she has to say and putting her own twist on everything from nail varnish trends to clip-in extensions. She manages to combine the best of photography, the art of the written word and genuinely interesting content while everyone else is just peddling out the same old thing.
3. My Pale Skin
A very recent discovery of mine, Em's makeup tutorials are simple but inspirational. I love the fact she freely showcases herself without a scrap of makeup (unashamedly putting herself out there despite her struggles with acne,) to show what makeup is all about - hiding imperfections, enhancing our natural beauty and having fun. It's amazing to see someone so open and honest when the bloggersphere has started to become so photoshopped and airbrushed... Both literally and metaphorically.
4. Beauty Edition
A great mix of tutorials, product reviews, fashion, food, playlists and general life updates, Beauty Edition is a refreshing read - I just wish she had time to update more regularly! The bloggersphere is so full of the same person and the same site multiplied, that it's great to see a different kind of face and a more relatable approach. She doesn't try to make out everything is perfect, so I feel like I can understand her point of view much better and really digest her content. I expect big things.
5. The Love Cats Inc
I adore Helen's relaxed and uber cool sense of style, making me wish I was ten years younger and a million percent cooler. Her blog is a mixture of outfit posts, beauty reviews and lifestyle updates, as well as the odd piece of advice for up-and-coming bloggers. The featured photography is beautiful, while still having a unique twist and not looking like every other site going. I also love the fact she's a fan of a designer investment pieces, like me, while still keeping the majority of her looks high street.
