1. Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in 'Make Your Move' (£11.80)
I'm a big fan of nude colours and understated lipsticks, but when it comes to the colder months we need to brighten the tone a little so our complexion isn't washed out. Unlike the summer months, when we have a little colour in our cheeks, our winter skin can be pale and matte - adding a slightly warmer brown tone to lips helps to lift the complexion and add warmth to skin. I love this creamy formula from Bare Minerals that doesn't dry lips, plus adds a touch of shine to your pout.
2. Urban Decay Lipstick in 'Mrs Mia Wallace' (£15.00)
Reds will never go out of style and are always a safe bet for the colder seasons, but this year darker reds and berry colours are definitely taking centre stage. I love this shade from Urban Decay's 'Pulp Fiction' collection, offering a hit of powerful red with a slightly darker undertone. It works well on practically every complexion too, thanks to the unusual berry tone. The texture is lightweight, full of pigment, incredibly creamy and a dream to apply - no flaking or dryness in sight.
3. Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Color in 'Electric Violet' (£19.50)
Mauve lip colours are going to be huge this Autumn, flying right off the catwalk and into our makeup bags. Although they may seem a little daunting, when warn with a delicate cat flick and a touch of pink blush to complement, they can look incredible. I love this shade from Bobbi Brown, offering just the right tone of mauve without it being too OTT; if you're not too sure, then layer up the colour gradually using a lip brush and apply a touch of transparent gloss over the top. Over a number of days, build up the result until you're confortable!
Will you be adopting a darker and more interesting lip colour this Autumn?
