1. Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo (£2.99)
Designed specifically for coloured hair, this tin from Herbal Essences claims to help your colour look even better by adding a touch of shine. It's transparent, meaning there are no telltale signs or white marks on died hair (bonus) and leaves an almost indistinguishable feeling. It's incredibly lightweight and has a rose scent, adding a refreshing hint of perfume to hair - great if you've not shampooed in a few days. All in all, a lot better than a traditional can of Batiste.
2. Aussie Miracle Dry Shampoo (£2.29)
If you love Aussie products and the Aussie scent, then you'll love this incarnation of a dry shampoo. Again, it's super lightweight and totally transparent, leaving hair feeling refreshed and grease-free without a chalky feel or white residue. In addition, it's great at building a little volume and giving 'day two' hair a little oomph without overloading. Considering it's less than a Starbucks coffee, this is definitely worth picking up.
3. Bouffe Dry Spray (£5.99)
A word of warning: this is NOT a dry shampoo. It's definitely a volumising and thickening spray, which can be used to create volume and aid styling - something that traditional dry shampoos are also great for. I used this on my hair like a dry shampoo and spent the day feeling like my hair was sticky and limp, even though it was full of volume and looking quite awesome. In my opinion it's much better when used on 'up dos' or to aid styling, rather than loose straight hair. However, it's available in seven shades (from light blonde and silver, right through to dark brown and transparent,) making it great for getting an indistinguishable look and tonnes of height.
All three of these are definitely worth picking up, especially as they're super affordable. Unless Batiste can launch a transparent version of their cult classic, or target the white chalkiness that has seen me push it aside, I can see other sprays (these included) taking poll position on dressing tables across the country. Would you swap your Batiste for one of these new launches?
All three sprays are available in Boots stores nationwide.
