The Cosmetics Fairy Challenge: How Much Swag Can You Nab For £10?

Although I carry a Mulberry bag and love a glass or two of champagne, there's nothing better than finding a bargain or getting a great deal. The little buzz and sense of satisfaction a fab buy can generate is second to none, which is why I've teamed up with discount beauty retailer Cosmetics Fairy to take part in a super thrifty challenge. They have an amazing array of cosmetics on offer from every brand imaginable, but they also offer a huge portfolio of products available for 99p or under. Including Bourjois, Maybelline, Essie, Revlon, NYC and Sally Hansen amongst others, you can grab an amazing bargain for as little as 25p. Pick up some nail polish, grab some lipgloss, stock up on false eyelashes, experiment with eyeshadow and much more... All for some incredible prices (and even with free delivery when you spend over £10.00) So with that in mind, Cosmetics Fairy challenged me to put together an impressive haul of products for only a tenner.

For just under ten quid I managed to get fourteen products, worth probably around ten times the amount that they're currently on offer for. Included in my stash were some well known brands (including some Bourjois lipgloss and lipstick, a Maybelline eyeshadow palette and Essie nail polish) as well as some new discoveries - including this fab eighteen colour eyeshadow pack from Colour Cosmetics and even a chunky LED lipbalm from Justice. All in all, I was pretty impressed with how much I managed to squeeze into my order for the cost of my Starbucks lunch... It's a great way to experiment, discover new things and grab a bargain.

Just in case you're worried about the quality of products from Cosmetics Fairy, or are wondering how they manage to keep their prices so low, they've given me this statement: "Having been in the beauty industry for many years we have a network of direct suppliers cutting out the middle man. We purchase in bulk and this enables us to offer our customers high discounted prices. The majority of our customers purchase in wholesale quantities which allows us to turn our stock around quickly and offer retail customers very low prices. We specialise in supplying discontinued and hard to find beauty makeup items. All products advertised on the Cosmetics Fairy website are genuine, new and unused and we make every effort possible to advertise products clearly, noting in the advert whether they are sealed, unsealed etc"

So what are you waiting for? Why not challenge yourself to see how much swag you can nab for a tenner on CosmeticsFairy.co.uk.

  2. I’ve ordered from there before and got lots of fake products and also products that had gone off. Hope you don’t experience the same!

    1. That's really disappointing - have you spoken with them directly and asked for an explanation/refund?

    2. Yes they told me I could send it back at my own cost and get a refund, but unfortunately the cost of sending it back would make the whole thing quite redundant. Quite disappointing but i’m sure some of their products are genuine.

    3. Sorry to hear that. I'm suprised they were asking you to front the cost of postage if there was a quality problem... Not good practice! If you need help getting in touch with someone just let me know x

Youve posted before about websites like this selling products way past their best, I particularly remember your piece on fragrancedirects products listing the ways in which they can be dangerous to use. If this website specialises in discontinued products, surely theyve been hanging around in a warehouse for months too? In what way do you think cosmetic fairt, which yoy clearly support, differs to fragrance direct which you attacked? Give your readers some credit and respect.

    1. The answer to your question is in the post above - I specifically questioned where their stock came from, how they could offer products so cheaply and if they could guarantee their quality. This is why I've included a statement drafted for me, as well as inspecting the products myself to check the quality. Everything I received was of good quality, unlike other retailers which sell tatty old products that are often out of date, old and opened. Discontinued doesn't necessarily mean old, unlike other websites which I've known to sell products that were withdrawn from sale over eight years ago. I'm not stupid and I know my readers aren't either; I never promote or talk about anything I don't put trust in.

  4. I have shopped with Cosmetics Fairy numerous times and never had any trouble. I think their range is FAB and full of variety. I usually only have to spend a tenner and get everything I need from my favourite brands.
One time my parcel went missing and the customer service team were so helpful (i contacted them on Facebook) and they immediately sent my order out again.

Love this post, great site! Would fully recommend Cosmetics Fairy.
