I've always been a big fan of Revlon nail varnish, the pots offering a thick and wearable texture and a plethora of colour options. Their version of the textured mosaic nail (called 'Rebel Graffiti') includes smaller fragments than the others, as well as tiny stripes of colour; the result is a more traditional 'glittery' effect which will be popular with sparkle fans, but still airs on the side of caution. Great for layering and wearing over a pale base coat, this is probably the most wearable of the three.
Seventeen are always ahead of the game, producing products and handy on-trend alternatives before any other mass brand gets a look in. This is no exception, as their 'Off the Wall Graffiti' mosaic nail polish also includes the so-cool-it-hurts shade of rose gold. The result is an unusual texture that also catches the light and adds a bit more interest to nails, while looking incredible over a white base. My personal favourite and an absolute bargain at £3.99.
Finally, Ciate's 'Check Mate' is full of lots of little black and white squares in varying shapes. They're keeping it simple and letting the flecks do the talking, making this fab for wearing alone and creating a statement. The formula is highly saturated with mosaic elements too, ensuring you get great coverage and don't have to spend too much time faffing and getting the bits where you need them. At £9.00 this is the most expensive, but you get a lot more for your buck - especially as the paint pots are always so visually appealing.
Although my personal favourite is the Seventeen version, Revlon's is the more wearable of the three and will still be great come Christmas. However, if you want a striking finish and a talking point in Starbucks, as always Ciate is your go-to brand. Which is your favourite?
All three polishes are available in stores and online now.
