The formula is relatively lightweight, but still provides enough coverage to replace a foundation completely. Sponge applicators are normally not even an option for me, but the thin bouncy pad helps the cream to apply seamlessly to skin in seconds. The result is a brighter and more uniformed finish that doesn't feel to 'overdone' - it's great for the morning rush, even easy enough to apply on the tube or train thanks to the giant mirror included in the compact.
Clinique's clever formula can even be worn in multiple ways, ensuring the finish that's perfect for you. For lighter coverage, spot apply the CC Cream specifically where skin looks red or dull (adding a touch of powder to minimise shine.) For moderate coverage, the CC Cream can be worn alone over bare skin (or even mixed a little with your moisturiser for a more natural finish.) For high impact fuller coverage, wear the CC Cream under foundation.
If you want to get your money's worth from this handy compact, I'd definitely recommend spot using it and ensuring you blend the colour as much as possible to minimise wastage. At £30.00 for a 10g compact it is pretty pricey (especially considering the original CC Cream costs £28.00 for a 40ml tube,) so you do need to ensure a little goes a long way. However, it's definitely one of the best CC Creams I've discovered to date and one I keep returning to for effortless makeup results.
The Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream Compact is available in six shades, priced £30.00.
