NEW: Olay 2-in-1 Anti-Wrinkle Primer

As I hit my thirties, I became even more concerned with skincare. Noticing little wrinkles and creases where there used to be super smooth skin is a little depressing, so adjusting your skincare routine to suit your age and lifestyle is essential. Although I used to be happy with a bit of night cream, I now religiously apply eye serum, a face serum, moisturiser and a primer before I even think about getting out the foundation. This can be a little time consuming, as well as layering my skin with numerous products that can cause my makeup to slip, so anything that offers multiple benefits in one is a bonus for me. Although a lot of Olay products are still a little way off for my needs, this new 2-in-1 Anti-Wrinkle Primer brings the benefit of targeted hydration with the added bonus of a primer-like finish to ensure makeup stays put.

Although I can't find out much about the ingredients or benefits this product brings, it's effectively a super light moisturiser that leaves a delicate and smooth finish on the skin. The formula is great at hydrating without leaving greasiness or heavy residue, perfect for using in the day under makeup. You need a small amount to massage the cream all around the face, focusing on the t-zone and chin area, which dries in a few minutes to leave a soft finish. It creates a matte result on skin, skimming over pores and helping to disguise fine lines, which works well to prime the skin under makeup. This is most definitely a hydrating cream with added primer benefits included, rather than a really effective primer that happens to also be moisturising, but it's a great go-to product for those of you not particularly comfortable with applying multiple layers of lotions and potions underneath your foundation.

Because it's so light and easy to use, it's been a great 'fall back' product when I'm in a rush and need to get out the door and on with my day. There's no faffing and I can rely on it to keep my skin feeling nourished and my makeup in place all day. It's not revolutionary or an absolute 'must have,' but it is a great product to have within your repertoire for those busy and sleepy mornings when you need to pay more attention to making coffee than applying your skincare. It's well priced too, costing £9.99 for a pretty big tube, so you can afford to have it on standby for when the need arises. Are you a fan of Olay?

The Olay 2-in-1 Anti-Wrinkle Primer is available from Boots priced £9.99 (currently on offer with a third off!)

  1. I actually really like Olay. I remember my nan always using the Beauty Fluid, which I started using when I was 13 or so. I have been using the 7 signs range for quite a while and I quite like it, it seems to suit my combo skin, doesn't cause me to breakout etc. My favourite 7 signs product is the eye cream, while I don't think my lines have changed much, but dark circles have dramatically changed and the are is a lot brighter. Of my under eye are, I would say that over 50% of that area has no purple/blue patches, and what is left is fading :-)

I am now switching to Regenrist, I need the extra's. I am always on the look out for different moisturisers and serums. I might try this as a primer, but still use my regular moisturiser etc. BTW what is your eye serum of choice?

    1. At the moment I'm loving Healgel (review on the blog,) but I also love Caudalie eye creams. They're really light and genuinely lift dark areas.
