To get the straighteners working, you simply touch the plates together or run them through the hair; the plates sense they're in use and heat up instantly, removing the need for a button or 'on' switch. The C9 Touch reaches its operating temperature of 195 degrees automatically, but if you require a lower temperature (suited to finer hair or softer styles,) you simply touch the plates together three times to switch to 165 degrees. It's such an odd sensation not having to flick a switch or press a button, as the straighteners heat up automatically within a second to the desired temperature. The functionality ensures that you can style as quickly as you need to, reducing the need to wait when you're in a rush or simply missed a bit of hair that needs touching up.
The C9 Touch also features the Cloud Nine mineral infused plates that glide smoothly through the hair, resulting in beautifully conditioned and highly polished locks. Unlike GHDs, which can leave hair feeling a little rough and in need of a moisture injection, the C9 Touch leaves your barnet looking and feeling great. My hair is much smoother and holds its style longer after using these, whereas the GHD simply burns out the goodness and leaves hair looking and feeling a bit dried out. I've really enjoyed using these and have happily swapped my GHDs for the more effective C9 Touch; considering they're available for the same price point, it makes sense to go for an upgraded version and added innovation.
The C9 Touch Hair Straighteners are exclusively available via Harvey Nichols priced £99.00
