Boux Avenue: Lets Get Party Ready

The party season has crept up on us, with the rush for the ultimate party dress well and truly on. If you need some showstopping underwear to complement your outfit, or simply need a boob-holding-solution to make that backless/strapless/frontless dress work, then there are worst places to spend an afternoon that Boux Avenue. Still a relative baby in the lingerie market since their launch in 2011, and the brainchild of Dragon's Den star Theo Paphitis, they've been making headway with their beautiful designs and affordable price points - looking hot doesn't have to cost the earth. As someone in need of a larger brassiere, I struggle to find attractive underwear that supports me how I need; however, Boux Avenue have become a firm favourite as their designs go up to a G cup and provide all the comfort I strive for. The store is cleanly designed and easy to navigate, with bras on display for customers to peruse - if you want to try on a garment, all the sizes are held in draws underneath so there's no need to hunt down a sales advisor or experience the embarrassment of telling her your bra size in front of the whole shop. Each garment also has its own label on for easy navigation, as well as a tag that shows all of the sizes available in that design... It's easy peasy.

There are loads of beautiful designs available just in time for Christmas, including festive red lacy numbers and lots of subtle sassy black. Lace is a massive trend still, so there's everything from lacy knickers to lace-adorned negligees available in store to help you ooze vintage glamour. However, if you're more of a basic girl then Boux Avenue have an expansive range of t-shirt and seamless underwear so nobody will have a clue what's underneath. Boux also host a range of bridal underwear for that special occasion, as well as adorable nightwear and accessories that would make the perfect stocking fillers: think oversized nightshirts and super cosy dressing gowns that would make Christmas morning even more snuggly. Unlike a lot of other lingerie stores that offer super fancy detailing that's both uncomfortable and expensive, Boux Avenue keeps it simple and affordable - most bras range from £20-30 (which is a huge discount from some of the other brands that adorn my boobs.) I try and stay away from Boux stores simply because it costs me a fortune every time I go in, but if you're in need of some new knickers to slip under that party dress they could be your new best friend.

  1. I discovered Boux Avenue about a year ago when La Senza went into administration. I needed a new lingerie destination so I had a browse through the Boux Avenue website. It definitely will cost you a fortune if you shop there haha. I haven't actually bought anything from there yet but I may do in the future since La Senza doesn't seem to be as good anymore now that they've been taken over.

    1. I used to shop at La Senza too, but over time the bras got smaller and worse quality. In the end they were so cheap and nasty I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole! Boux do great designs that are comfy and affordable. It's only one of two brands I now wear : )
