Urban Decay Black Market: 24/7 Eyeliner Pencils

Occasionally the beauty world goes a bit gaga for certain brands or products, but most of the time it baffles me why. However, when it comes to Urban Decay I'm well and truly on the bandwagon - if not leading the parade, trumpet in hand. Their products may be more expensive than your run-of-the-mill brand from Boots, but they're really worth spending a bit more on. When it comes to Christmas gift sets their offerings are second-to-none, providing amazing savings and allowing you to test products you may not have purchased as a stand-alone. The Urban Decay Black Market eye pencil set is no exception, providing six fabulous shades of their iconic 24/7 eye liners for only £26.00 (That's just over £4.00 each, which is a whopping £10.00 saving on each one!) Although the pencils are about a third shorter than their single counterparts, this provides a great introduction to a great product - especially if you're a massive fan of a dark, smokey eye.

The pencils are extremely creamy and pigmented, providing an amazing shot of colour around the eye in one swoop. There's no faffing required, as the texture allows you to easily create a strong line or blend the colour outwards to turn it into a smokey look. These really do stay in place all day long, providing better longevity than nearly every eyeliner I've ever tried. Although the nibs are very soft and occasionally break off (requiring a sharpener to be always on hand!) this only aids to the creation of a soft yet striking look. If you're a fan of a delicate and thin line around the eye, then these may not be quite up your street; however, if you like experimenting with your cosmetics then these will be a great addition to your collection. Within the Black Market set there are six shades of eyeliner, including a basic bold black as well as blue, grey, khaki and bronze hints of colour within a black base. These would not only look amazing alone, but provide the perfect complementary colour to an eyeshadow base within the same spectrum. Essentially you can't go wrong with this kit: it makes a perfect indulgence for yourself, or a fantastic stocking filler for a loved one this Christmas.

The Urban Decay Black Market eyeliner set is available from House of Fraser and other outlets priced £26.00.
