Five Ways to Banish the Wedding Gift Blues this Summer

When two very important people in your life are joined in holy matrimony it’s a joyous occasion… Until you realise you have to trawl through shop after shop to find them the perfect gift. Weddings pose a dilemma unlike any other occasion. You can’t just settle for a gift voucher or pop into Argos in the vain hope of finding that special something; you have to account for two different tastes, whilst also commemorating their union and giving something that will warm the heart strings. There’s a treasure trove of unique and personlised gifts out there that will put your Aunt’s toaster to shame, that are just a click away. With the first of my four wedding invitations creeping up in less than a month, here are a few of my personal favourites that will get me through 2013.

East of India Vintage Wedding Guest Book: This charming little wedding guest book is a great way to give the bride and groom a little memento from their wedding day. However, if you have time between picking out dresses and helping with table decorations, this would make the perfect relationship scrapbook. Filled with photos, memories and best wishes this can easily become an instant treasured keepsake.

Personalised wedding cushions: No doubt the happy couple will be looking to furnish their home with trinkets and keepsakes following their special day. These pillows come in a variety of cute bespoke designs and are a great way to inject a little personality into your present, whilst also keeping it thoughtful and unique.

Biscuiteers: Whilst the Bride and Groom are being lavashed with champagne and chocolates, these deliciously adorable wedding themed biscuits will stand out from the crowd. Presented in a pink Biscuiteers tin, these handmade and hand-iced vanilla baked biccies come in the shape of hearts, presents and shoes. Although a little on the feminine side, this gift will satisfy anyone’s sweet tooth.

‘Story of Us’ Timeline Print: This quirky print lets you choose between 6 and 16 special dates from the couples relationship, transforming them into an artful timeline. Why not include things like their birth date, the day they met, their proposal date and wedding day, as well as a little personalised message at the bottom. I can’t imagine a better way to brighten up their kitchen post-honeymoon.

Framed and Mounted Special Song: If you’re lucky enough to know which song the couple are planning to play for their first dance, then why not frame and mount the record. You don’t even have to dig the single out, as The Old Record Shop will find it and frame it for you. You can even include a personalised message so you can trick the bride and groom into thinking you went to a lot of effort. You never know, it might earn you an extra slice of the wedding cake.

What presents will you be giving your best of friends as we hit wedding season?

This is a sponsored post.

  1. My best friend is getting married this June and she announced me the big news two days ago! I was thinking of doing something like the Story of us timeline but now i'm gonna buy it :)
    Thanks for sharing!!!

  2. Great ideas. It's our first wedding anniversery tomorrow and speaking from experience these would have made lovely gifts. X

  3. Great ideas, I love the cushion! Xx

  4. My friend got married yesterday and because they already have a house and two kids they just asked for money. I bought one of those 'pot of dreams' moneyboxes that said 'honeymoon fund' on it and put some money in that instead of just putting a cheque in the card, thought it was a little nicer!

  5. Thank you for all these tips! I agree, getting the right gift for the bride and the groom are really difficult. You have to consider the tastes of both individuals. In order to be safe, I usually give kitchen appliance as a gift, so that they'll be able to use it all the time. But, I also want to give a not so common gift, I think the Wedding Guest Book would be perfect. Thanks!

  6. oohh marriage! :) So fun!

of course like your web-site but you have to check the spelling on several of your posts.
Several of them are rife with spelling issues and I in finding it very troublesome to tell the truth on the other
hand I will surely come again again.
