Winter Wonderland: Hyde Park, London

There's one place on Earth you should treck to every Christmas time, and I'm not talking about a stable with a manger in it... Winter Wonderland is a haven of fairy lights, mulled wine, Christmas trees, polar bears, wood cabins, fudge and rollercoasters. If you've never been before, then make sure you make this the year that you take a wander through the best festive celebration the country has to offer. It's totally free to get in and you can have a walk around the rides and experiences, taking in the scents of Christmas while enjoying a warm cider. There's a skating rink, carousel and circus to enjoy too, although these book up really quickly so make sure you have tickets before you go along. The giant carousel gives you a great view over London, especially when it's dark and you can see the lights flutter like stars in the sky… Although if you're not a fan of heights or feel uneasy on fairground rides then this may not be for you - it's very shaky as you go around and left me feeling a little delicate! If you have kids there's so much for them to take in, from giant polar bears, to singing reindeer heads, Father Christmases wherever you look (it's quite comical to see some of the fairground rides dress up a token in a Santa costume, put up some tinsel and call themselves a festive experience!) and plenty of sugar.  The positioning of Winter Wonderland is perfect too, being just on the corner of Hyde Park and right next to the tube. It's experiences like these that make me love London even more… Will you be going along to London's Winter Wonderland this year?
