When I was a youngster I spent many evenings surrounded by face masks, spot treatments and those funny nose-strip things that you could never quite get to work properly (probably because they were from Poundland.) Fast forward about 15 years and I may not be struggling with the frizzy hair and boy trouble (who am I kidding,) but I'm still struggling with pimples, blackheads and visible pores. Biore have re-launched their famous Deep Cleansing Pore Strips, which now includes a combo pack to tackle all your problem areas. If you're not familiar with the product, then it's basically a pre-cut piece of paper that you wet under the tap and place over the nose, chin or forehead. The paper then dries on the skin, sticking to the surface and pulling away dirt and grime with it's removed from the face's surface. Not unlike waxing, it's not the most painless of processes but it does pull away some of the nasty build up that can otherwise be hard to reach. Biore do claim that you can see the grime; I don't know if it's me just not wanting to look or the fact that it's not really 'pulling out the blackheads', but my strips are always pretty clear. The post-use feeling is one of tightened and fresh skin (mainly because you rip off a layer unintentionally,) and these are great to use once a week as part of a regular routine. In fact, Biore recommend you use these once a week to get rid of 7 days worth of nasty stuff in ten minutes. Considering these are targeted mainly at teenage skin concerns, the price is surprisingly high - £10.99 for 7 nose and 7 face strips (so almost £1 a strip) - which may put a lot of people off giving these a whirl. However, these are super easy to use and perfect for a 5min fix, but be warned... Don't use them on actual spots because you'll be screaming all the way to next Halloween.
The combo strip pack is £10.99 from Boots for 14 strips.
