The last couple of months have flown by in a whirlwind, with ever increasing pressure from every angle of my life. Although my usual reaction isn't to run away, in this instance it's exactly what the doctor ordered... So I'm running away to New York! I've been struggling to keep up with blogging regularly and have lost my way a little bit, so today I'm flying over to NYC for a week of drinking coffee, exploring the Village and being a bit of a tourist. I'll be blogging (hopefully) all the time I'm there, but right now I'm off to catch a flight to the Big Apple... See you on the other side!
(PS if you have any recommendations of what to do and where to go, do drop me a note in the comments box - I have a week to fill full of fabulous fun!)

How exciting! Hope you have a fabulous time. I'm planning a trip in December for my 30th- cant wait to hear about everything you get up to - I'll be taking notes!! Clare (SparklySexyCool) xx
ReplyDeleteDon't go up the empire state building. Go to the top of the Rockefeller centre instead. That way you get clear views of central park uptown and the empire state to frame any downtown pics. You can also do a good deal and get tickets to moma as part of the ticket.
ReplyDeleteOh and try to find one of the Vietnamese sandwich places in the village. Soo good.
Enjoy!!
i'm so jealous! have an amazing time :)

soo jealous!! I loved NY when I went, if you've never been before you have to do the real touristy things especially going up the empire state building!! as for shopping definately find tiffany's even if its just for a look and have look round the massive toys r us in Times Square! Can't wait to see what you get up to!! x
ReplyDeleteFully recommend walking the Broolyn Bridge, riding the Staten Island Ferry and walking all the way through Central Park. I also thought the 9/11 memorial was poinient.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy! Perfect time of year for NYC
We went in June and it's fantastic. A good tip we got told is to go up the Rockafeller Center instead of the Empire State building, you get the Empire State in your photo's, it's cheaper and the queues are smaller and it's still a fantastic view
ReplyDeleteoh i love new york, have a fabulous time.
ReplyDeleteKeep away from times square, it's awful. make sure you walk around central park, visit the meat packing district and walk along the highline rail tracks. go up the rockafella not the empire state & do not buy tickets from sellers on times square. Go to little italy and chinatown for food. Don't be scared of the subway. talk to the locals and count how many starbucks you see.

Go to Magnolia Bakery for cupcakes - very SATC! Century 21 near Ground Zero is New York's answer to TK Maxx but much better. If you're up for a gig head to Mercury Lounge on the Lower East Side. In terms of galleries, MOMA is much more fun than the Guggenheim. Have a look at Strawberry Fields (John Lennon memorial near Central Park) and make sure you spend lots of time in the park itself - it'll be beautiful this time of year!xx
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great time!
