The plait is the one massive hair trend that seems to be apparent this London Fashion Week season. The slightly more boho alternative to the sleek ponytail, the plait is great for many reasons - it gets the hair off your face in the heat, it creates a strong look with relatively little effort, it hides greasy roots and it works well whatever length of hair you have. The plaits at Dans La Vie were long, swishy and reminiscent of an Avatar's tail. The strong look helped to ensure the focus was on the clothes, with hair completely away from the face, leaving only a slick of strong black liner to bring it all together. If you fancied creating the look yourself, then here's how: "Section the hair into two, across the head at the ear, securing the lower half into a low ponytail. Add hair wefts for extreme length. Take a small section in the centre at the hairline and divide into three, then braid the hair, wrapping each section underneath the other to reverse the braid. Join the braid at the ponytail and keep braiding until you reach the end. Secure with an elastic band and finish with hairspray."
