MUA: Going for Gold

The countdown to the big one is on. The Olympics are nearly upon us and as a Londoner I'm started to get a little bit excited. Everyone seems to be launching commemorative products, but I'm not going to bring you teacups or tea towels, it's still all about the makeup. MUA have launched their own limited edition celebratory palette full of bronzed, silver and golden colours fit for a winning athletes eyelid. Appropriately called 'Going for Gold', it contains ten shades in rather large squares - we're used to seeing MUA palettes contain little circles of colour, so I'm liking this new angle.

There are five paler shades and five more intense colours, lending perfectly to some blending and playing around creating medal-winning looks. All of the shades contain an element of shimmer, catching the light and leaving a more intense result rather than a matte base colour. Although some of the eyeshadows are a bit scary for my liking (bright metallic mustard isn't a look I normally go for) I like the unusual combinations and use of silver and bronze. These are totally wearable from day to night and will probably see you right through to winter. Saying that, I half expect them to re-launch this with a robin on and call it a Christmas special.

Seeing as it's only £4.00 this is a bargain... You won't get an eyeshadow to match the quality of this anywhere for 40p. Available in Superdrug and online here.
