Be a Force of Beauty

In a world that's full of airbrushed models, unattainable looks and ridiculous pressure to look a certain way, the latest campaign from Bare Minerals really stands out. Their first campaign to feature models rather than just hero product shots has a very interesting back story - all five of the spokespeople were chosen without ever revealing what they looked like. Bare Minerals have done something quite courageous by casting five women to represent their brand without ever seeing their faces, believing their inner beauty was more important. The five faces were interviewed in private, their voices being transmitted to another room where the judges, casting agents and brand representatives were sitting. Watching the videos that have been created, you really get a feel for the inner beauty, strength and passion they all have and how this encaptures the identity of Bare Minerals as a brand. The campaign is called 'Be a Force of Beauty' and it really illustrates how every single one of us are beautiful in our own way. Although the models' stories are very sickly sweet and American, the idea is such a great one and something I'll be delving deeper into over the next week.

To celebrate this fantastically refreshing campaign I've teamed up with the lovely people at Bare Minerals to offer one lucky person their very own 'starter kit' so you can try the entire range for yourself and see how much it can benefit your skin and makeup routine - after all, it's the makeup so pure you can sleep in it! I've written about the brand many times before and it's one that I adore. To win the 'Bare Minerals Get Started Kit' all you have to do is comment below and tell me who the 'force of beauty' is in your life; it can be anyone from your best friend to your mum, even Beyonce if you feel like it! Just tell me who you admire and leave me a valid email or twitter handle.

I'll be telling you more about the campaign over the next few days, but in the meantime if you want to get a heads up you can check it out on their website. Good luck!

T&Cs: One entry per person. To be eligible you must be a follower of this blog and leave valid contact details. Winner will be chosen at random and contacted within 48hrs of the competition closing. If they do not respond within 48hrs and alternative winner will be chosen. Bare Minerals will send the prize directly to the winner and LBQ is in no way responsible if this gets lost/stolen during transport. No alternative prize available. Closing date Monday 13th Feb 2012.

  4. I know everyone will probably say this, but my mum is the force of beauty in my life!

She's not into beauty and she doesn't wear make-up, but she has always been there for me throughout everything, and has always put me and my brothers first.

We've been through a lot together but we've also come out the other end and now enjoy what we have.

  8. My sister is my 'force of beauty', she certainly doesn't fit the stereotypical classic beauty and her curves are amply rounded but she has that mysterious 'it' factor.
No matter how she's dressed or whether she's made up, everyone's eyes are drawn to her when she enters a room. Whether its her innate happiness or her determination to grab life & wring it dry, she shines from within and that's impossible to ignore!

  9. My pet cat has to be the force of beauty in my life (: She used to be a pretty pure white Persian cat once until she got attacked by a stray cat and now has a huge gash running through her ears till her left eye. Looking at her now makes other people cringe but to me she's even more beautiful than before, because that gash represents her strength and the pain that she has endured (:

  14. I think the force of beauty is Katie Piper (Model who had acid thrown in her face), even though such a terrible thing happened to her she didnt let it get her down and she is still staying strong and inspiring thousands of women out there and proving that anyone can be confortable in their own skin if they show that they are beautiful on the inside as well as the out. I personally still think that she looks stunning!

  16. There's so many forces of beauty that spring to mind who I admire. If I had to narrow it down it would be my first born daughter. She is just coming into her own and growing so fast - its the before makeup years so its a natural beauty and those for me are the best kind!

My force of beauty would be my little girls.
They are both very pretty, but they are also beautiful on the inside.
My 8 year old would do anything for anyone, in school, she will take time to help other children and also teachers when things need tidying up etc.
My 3 year old isn't in school yet, but she is beautiful too, because she loves "huggles" and is immensely loving and gentle.
I am currently expecting my third, and I know he/she will be just as beautiful as my others.

My force of beauty would be my friend, Leanne. I've been throguh a really tough time recently- self-harm, family moving away, close friends vanishing, medical problems- and she's remained here, as she has for seventeen years, my friend, even though I haven't deserved a friend like her. She's endlessly elegant, with perfect hair and make-up, and very poised. She's wonderful-beautiful inside and out.
