To me Louise Redknapp will always be the girl who sung "you make me feel naked" on Top of The Pops in front of my Nan, but she's actually grown up a little bit since then. After marrying a footballer, popping out a few kids and presenting some foodie programme on the BBC at weekends, she's decided to do something a little bit more exciting and become the face (or hair) of Schwarzkopf. There are two exciting things about this: 1. We get to see more of Louise's beautiful face without having to watch that awful Thompson holiday advert. 2. We get to see less of those dodgy European matchy-matchy hair ads that currently champion Schwarzkopf! Double win.
Ben Haxworth, Head of Marketing at Schwarzkopf, said: “Louise is the perfect ambassador for LIVE Salon Style, a range designed for busy women who need to be able to achieve salon-like results in their own time and their own home. Whether on the red carpet or out shopping with her family, Louise always looks incredible. She combines true sophistication with on-trend styling and, despite all her years at the top, also radiates a warm and down-to-earth persona. Her role as both professional career women and busy mum is definitely one that women can relate to and are inspired by.”
Louise Redknapp said: “I’m delighted to be the new face and hair of Schwarzkopf LIVE Salon Style. Hair is really important to me and I know just how much hair colour can affect how we look and feel. The right hair colour can make a difference to your whole look."
I'm pretty chuffed that they've actually gone for a British spokesperson, as well as choosing someone that's actually 'real' and could be your mate. I've no idea if she's going to be appearing in the advertising any time soon, but I really do hope so. What do you think of their new spokesperson?
