Since writing this blog I've discovered a lot of unique and luxurious brands and resigned myself to the fact that, on the whole, you get what you pay for. If you want something that's great quality, does the job and looks pretty then you're going to have to fork out some dosh. One brand has been on LBQ since the very first week though, never failing to impress with its quality and ridonculous prices - Collection 2000. As a brand that's been with me my entire life (clear mascara and pressed powder anyone?) it still impressed with its constantly changing and relevant identity, as well as the fact they make pretty good products for the cost of my morning latte. This new launch is no exception as they bring creamy, delicious eyes to the masses.
Metallic Cream is a creamy, metallic, wet eyeshadow in a tube. Coming in five different colours and being packaged in these simple pots, the cream is like molten metal that dries quickly on the skin. It's easy to blend these out to create a smokey look, or keep simple with a strong, slick line, as the formula is easy to manipulate. They don't crease and they last all day long - exactly what you need in a wet to dry eyeshadow! There's no flaking, no smudging... Basically the way you apply it at 8am is the way it remains at 8pm. Even if you're a makeup novice, the formula of these eyeshadows enables you to get it right every time and play around with the results.
These are a mix of Bourjois' Shimmering Shine and Bare Escentuals High Shine Colour, but without the price tag. The colour range isn't particularly extensive, but the bronze, khaki and subtle pink are totally wearable whatever your skin tone or whatever the season. (They also have a bright blue if you're feeling a bit daring.) You may think that these come with a hefty cost attached, but thanks to the beauty of Collection 2000 they're only £2.99 each! Bargainous and delicious... collect them all now and make them staples of your makeup bag.
Available from Boots and Superdrug priced £2.99. Launching October.
