To matte or not to matte

I rarely go for a 'shiny' or dewy look when it comes to foundation, unless I'm on holiday or attempting to go for the 'I just rolled out of bed looking like this' look. Normally I'm a big fan of matte foundations and a dusting of powder to give me a flawless, English Rose complexion. The mattifying foundation from Avon claims to mattify the t-zone while moisturising dry skin, leaving the face looking fresh. It's very lightweight and offers a mid-to-light coverage on blemishes, letting the natural radiance of skin shine through. The formula goes quite a long way and is easily blendable, meaning you need a small blob to cover the entire face.

Once applied the foundation is slightly moisturising: since using it over the past few weeks I haven't had to moisturise my skin so much, focusing instead on a slight slick of night cream. It works well with other makeup too, not becoming cakey or noticeable, even after wearing it all day long. It's mattifying without completely removing all personality from the complexion, even though a slight dusting of powder fixes it in place. My t-zone still becomes slightly greasy by the end of the day, unlike other mattifying foundations, but this is a really good everyday foundation and I have no major complaints. I would use a heavier and longer-lasting product for the evening, but at £8.00 (currently on offer for £4.00) you really can't complain!
