There has been a lot of talk about luxury samples being delivered direct to your door. We've had Glossybox, Boudoir Prive and now 'Latest in Beauty'. If you've been hiding under a rock for the past six months then the idea is a simple one - sign up to a beauty box service and on a monthly basis have a box of samples delivered directly to you, picked using a set of criteria that you provide. There's been a lot of backlash against Glossybox already and Boudoir Prive don't seem to be doing much better, so up pops 'Latest in Beauty' with their version and on first glance it seems to be a winner. (By 'up pops' I mean on my radar - I know they've been around the longest!)
The unique selling point of this over the other variants is that you can completely tailor your requirements depending on your budget. You can have three sachet samples delivered for as little as £1.00, order luxury travel sized products for a little more and even benefit from bi-monthly 'themed boxes' which start at £4.95. The control is there and the options are clear as day. The newest 'themed box' is the CEW Beauty Insiders Choice box, which includes six samples of products that have the stamp of approval from the most esteemed ladies in the industry. For £4.95 you get all this delivered to your door to try at your own convenience... Let's have a peek inside.
For less than a fiver you can't really argue. Apparently this has a retail value of £20, but to be honest you're getting four decent sized products for the same amount as your lunchtime burrito so you can't go wrong. I know there's a Batiste in there and I know this caused most of the backlash with Glossybox, but c'mon, we all love a bit of dry shampoo. The Clarins more than makes up for it! So far, so good with 'Latest in Beauty' - I'd definitely be up for giving this a go more long term. I love the fact that you can pick and choose what you want and have the option of varying levels of sampling, as well as the website which holds customer feedback, product reviews and even a blog on the newest products.
Have you tried this service? What do you think? How does it compare with the others available?
