Filthy nails

Last year I tottered along to the new Filthy Gorgeous salon in Debenhams Oxford Street for a little introduction to their newest treatments and pampering on offer to ladies what lunch. (Or ladies what like to wander around Debenhams anyway.) At the time the three founders let us into a secret... they'd been busy beavering away creating their own nail polish range which included a signature colour for each of them. These nail varnishes are finally available to buy and I've been lucky enough to get my hands on three of the thirty shades available.

The bottles of the polishes are really cute, including fab detailing on the lid and a cute detachable Plectrum (or guitar string plucker thing to you and me) which you can use to accessorise your inner rock chick with. It's held on by a little elasticated band and a clasp so it's easy to attach it to a necklace, bracelet, bag or whatever you fancy. I did attempt to paint my nails with it still on and I ended up with a big old dented mess, so I'd advise you to take it off before getting painty!

The polish itself is easy to apply and the brush good quality so you can paint efficiently without the colour going all over the place. The two bright colours I have are incredibly bright and pigmented - surprisingly so. In one swoop you get a great colour result that's thick and rich and true to the colour in the pot. The pale colour wasn't as impressive, being quite runny and not giving a great colour result as it was practically invisible on my nail, but the range is full to the brim with bright hues and fab effects so this didn't put me off at all.

At £9.00 these polishes aren't cheap, but if you're in need of some bright colour in your life then they're worth a look. A lot of bright shades I've tried from other brands tend to be streaky and take seven coats to get a true colour, but with this you pretty much get it in one. I love the thought and detail that's gone into the range and can see them being cute gifts for the rock chicks in your life... or even for Mum this Mothers Day if she's that way inclined!

These are available in Filthy Gorgeous, Debenhams and online through both the Filthy Gorgeous and Debenhams website.
