So with the festive season comes many a late night and tired eye. I know I've spent the last 3 weeks wishing for a magic formula that will make me look like I've been doing a 'Sleeping Beauty' and hanging around in a tower for a good few years, but alas, my search has left me empty handed. So time to find the next big thing in my makeup bag - could it be Rodial's Glamtox Eye Light Pen?
They say: "Rodial glamtox eye light pen is a revolutionary tinted formula that immediately erases any signs of fatigue and brightens the complexion. This fantastic new pen is a combination of a fast-acting eye cream and concealer all-in-one. The Rodial glamtox eye light pen will illuminate and brighten the under eye area by instantly diminishing dark circles. Rodial glamtox eye light pen treats eyes to an instant pick me up!" That's a pretty big claim to make someone that is obsessed with their under eyes.
The product itself is like any traditional concealer pen, but it's super silver and shiny. I was disappointed with the packaging because the lid doesn't sit on properly and kept popping off in my bag, meaning my purse got a good covering of concealer, (this may just be my one though.) I would have also thought for £30 you'd get a metal pen, but it's plastic - so not a huge win on the pack. The formula is really light and runny, which basically meant I wasn't expecting to do anything at all, but it did. Once I applied it to my under eye area and smoothed it around I did notice that it covered up the majority of the darker area, building up more coverage as I added layers.
It's supposed to give you an instant pick-me-up and it certainly did at 7am on a cold morning. My eyes did feel brighter, soothed and less puffy and the coverage was surprisingly good. I usually use a really heavy and thick concealer on this area as I'm paranoid about dark circles, but this lighter formula seemed to work just as well, if not better. I thought I'd feel a bit self-conscious but in fact once it settled down and I knew I looked alert and bright (that doesn't happen very often) I was happy! I do think it's expensive as you don't get a huge amount of product, but a little does go a long way so you'll be using it sparingly. One for the Christmas list or for special 'just because I'm sad' treats!
