Accessorize is one of my favourite 'go-to' brands when I need to uplift an outfit for a few pennies. They have something for everyone, in every style and at every budget. So it seems like a natural progression for them to dip their toe into new waters. They've already experimented with body products (I'm sure you'll have seen them in Boots over Christmas) and now they full-on going for it with a complete new makeup range, that I can tell you is truly fabulous.
When I was invited to the launch this week I expected it to be a capsule range available only through their stores. How wrong I was! Not only is the range HUGE (consisting of nearly 200 pieces) but will also be available nationwide in Superdrug stores from the end of the month. This isn't a range extension or a tactical launch, this is a two year development project culminating in a collection that reflects their identity really, really well.
The products are fantastic, with particular focus on nail varnish and eyeshadow. The colours are vibrant, on-trend and can compete with top brands like MAC, but with a super cheap price tag - most things are £4-5 and nothing is over a tenner. You'll notice the electric blues, metallic browns, fantastic greens... there's something for everyone. The marbled effect of the baked eyeshadows and mixed shades within the nail varnish really make this a qualitative range that I can see being a huge success.
There are some fab little products too, including an eyeshadow palette with a cute primer, a gel eyeliner set, glitter crayons and dual eyeshadows. One of my faves is this blusher/bronzer combo in an animal print design, perfect for people like me that like to wear a bit of both... I did try to steal it, but with no success! Take a look at some of the photos below - there are some amazing colours!
I really loved this range and I can't wait for it to launch. The pigments are fantastic quality, regardless of the fact that they're super cheap. I had my nails done on the day and fell in love with the varnish - it's been on since Tuesday evening and there's not a chip in sight. Roll on 28th September!
