It's Magic

Although we're not in the season for foundation, and miraculously I haven't seen a bottle for over two months, it's always a good idea to be prepared for when the seasons change. Avon sent me a selection of their new Magix Cashmere foundation to try a few weeks ago and I really didn't want to break my hard work after my skin has been so much better of late. So what's a beauty blogger to do? She relies on her beauty blogger followers, that's what!

I sent samples of the foundation out to three willing volunteers, not only to test each of the shades individually, but to get a group opinion on whether the product was worth it's gravy. This is what the lovely ladies had to say...

This foundation contains the Magix Face Perfector within it, which is a product I use on a daily basis to create a flawless look. This foundation has a very light coverage, it blends very easily and has a very pleasant smell. (An odd thing to notice but I’ve bought makeup in the past that's smelt terrible and put me off wearing it again.) I would say this is perfect for the day time as I like to look fresh and perky (even though I’m not!) I wouldn’t wear it in the evening as I prefer a thicker coverage for my night out warpaint. I found it to last well all day; my skin only seemed a bit shiny by hometime, which is a bonus as I’m usually sporting a mirror on my forehead. I’m always impressed by Avon products and it’s rare I find something I don’t like. I would certainly buy this in the future as it’s a perfect everyday foundation.

I found this to be a light and airy foundation. It glides on very easily and left no patches on my skin. It left me with a smooth coverage, didn't feel cloggy and gave me a lovely glow to my face. It also lasted a long time... in fact I went out at 7pm, came home at 2 am and my make-up was still perfect! It kept my shiny skin under control and was really easy to remove, so I'll definitely be using this again. It's just a shame they don't do it in a larger tube!

I really loved the cashmere foundation. It didn't leave me with that not-quite-a-perfect-match-to-my-skin effect that I sometimes get with foundations and it really made my face seem brighter and smoother. It was really easy to apply and didn't dry out my skin at all. In fact it left me with really smooth soft skin and didn't clog up my pores like I sometimes find with thicker foundation. It left me with a very natural looking tone to my skin, matte enough not to need powder on the top which was fab when I was running low on time in the morning! The only slight negative with it was that it didn't cover blemishes, just smoothed and evened the tone of my skin, so I teemed it with my concealer to give me that flawless finish! I have to say that personally it has given me the best match to my skin tone out of any foundation I have tried before, so it is one I will definitely be keeping with for a while to come.

So unanimously the girls loved it and all three would buy it again. I'm sooo glad I kept one for myself now!

  1. Wow, so this is like Avon foundation mixed with the Avon primer which I already adore? *Adds to shopping list*

    Great guest reviews :) xx

  2. I love the Magix Face Perfector. Can't wait to try this one. Thanks very much.

  3. I simply adore the face perfector from the magix range, but this foundation... Well, it separates in the tube! First I thought it has gone off, but I read hereand there of other girls having the smae problem. I did a thourough review on the range on my blog, if you have a look at it, you'll get what I'm talking about. Didn't you have any problems with the consistency?
